i rarely post Washington politics (i don’t like polluting the blog-o-sphere), but i’ve been following this story. it’s a diversion, really. for those not up to speed, our attorney general fired lots of US attorneys. he MIGHT have had political motives (i.e. the US attorneys fired MIGHT not have been conservative republicans and MIGHT have been disadvantageous to the white house). alberto gonzalez MIGHT have had no idea what he was doing.

either way, if you go to your boss and say “I really did not know what was going. I really screwed up. I don’t remember what happened,” or any combination of those things, it is likely you will be released from your position of Attorney General. But then again, this might just be a diversion.
