WordPress to Myspace Cross Posting

Awesome wordpress plugin just found :::
http://noumenon.roderickrussell.com/wordpress-to-myspace-auto-crossposting

I’ve been looking for a way to get postings from my wordpress blog to myspace. i’ve been getting a bit frustrated because I write all these posts, but nobody really reads them – i think…

So, I thought, “why not just put this crap up on myspace?” at least some more people might read them there.

Well, this is the answer – for now

wordpress to Myspace

Whenever I write a post here on this wordpress blog, this plugin will post something on my myspace page.

In getting it to work, you MUST edit one of the files [pingmyspace_v1_4a.php] to include all your database information, AND your MySpace information (username + password). if you do not have your database information, you can find that in your config.php file by FTP’ing into your blog.

So, FTP into your wordpress blog. find the config.php file, and right click on the file. you should see “edit.” go ahead and do that. you’ll be able to to see all the database variables there.

i’ll be trying it out for this post, so if you see it on my myspace blog, then you’ll know it worked!

Photos from The Yard

Dancers in The Barn
This July, I have been working with Misnomer Dance on an online audience initiative. As part of this initiative, I have been building our their blog, producing content (video and photos) and finding ways to do online audience outreach. My favorite photo so far is included above. Below are a few more pictures I’ve taken along with other photos from company members:

How Interactive Video is Interactive Online

I found this article on [itvt], which featured an interview with Jumpcut’s Founder, Mike Folgner

http://blog.itvt.com/my_weblog/2007/03/itvt_itv_interv.html

Mike actually worked at OpenTV, which I have never heard of until reading the article.

Interesting fact:

“In 2004, only a small percentage–around 15%–of the regular digital cameras shipped had video-capture capability. In 2005, that rose to something like 50%. And now it’s somewhere over 80%. ”

In the article, he discusses why he thinks Jumpcut will thrive. He also shares his ideas of how video sharing + editing will work in the near future. Pretty good read, though it is a bit much of a plug for jumpcut. Can you really blame him, though? He’s the CEO.

On a total side note, MTV is doing a User-Generated Content (UGC) contest. I saw this on the yahoo site, but here’s the post on [itvt]:

My Thesis…

…is moving along. as part of my thesis work, I’ve been building out a video blog for Misnomer Dance Theater. I’ve been using jumpcut because it allows other people to access and edit the videos online. For people who might not have access to video editing equipment, this is a great tool. However, I wonder how many “non-experts” will actually edit any of our videos. This is a real problem if I am to have people participate in a remix contest. This is one of the videos I edited online.

The remix contest is only one of many initiatives we have. I am hoping video artists, illustrators, and other media makers will take my misnomer clips and use it to remix with their own clips. The question is: how can I make this happen? We’re giving away VIP packages and other good stuff, but will it be satisfying to remix these clips?

As a side note, I found this article, which gives some tips on blogging, blogging layout, blog design, and other bloggy blog world things
